My best form of communication has always been writing music and playing - but I will use a few words to present this project.

I was born in Brazil and grew up listening to all genres of music. But the Bossa Nova, an amazing fusion of jazz harmonies with an original Brazilian ginga or swing, stuck to me. Bossa Nova is Brazil's best ambassador, and it is welcomed all over the world. Bossa Nova lyrics are also amazing with their passionate stories of love, sea, sun, beaches, all intertwined with a little "saudade" - a Portuguese word for the feeling of "missing someone or something".

The Atlantico project is a mix of American Jazz with Bossa Nova, Samba, Pop music and other rhythms. I call this beautiful new creation Smooth-Jazz-Pop-Bossa.
As a composer and arranger, I know how difficult and important it is to partner up with a musician who understands your idea. Ivo de Carvalho is the right partner for the Atlantico Project not only because of his incredible talent, but also because of the way he envisions and perceives life.
The name Atlantico was chosen because I wanted something simple and powerful. Something that would encompass both cultures (American and Brazilian) and at the same time could express the depth of my inner feelings.

Always, I have music in my heart.
